What time does the event start and finish?
The event starts at 5pm sharp and finishes at 11pm. You need to be onsite by 4.30pm for a safety briefing and to see our ambassador launch the event!
What happens if I don’t reach the minimum fundraising target of $250?
With the friendly support of the Black Dog Institute fundraising team we are sure that you will reach your goal. Please also utilise the fundraising tools available to you in the 'Fundraising' section of this website which will further help you to meet the modest $250 target by event date.

Are there any age restrictions for the event?
The event is open to participants aged 16 years and over.
Are there rest stops on the course?
Yes! We suggest taking a rest wherever our lovely volunteers are situated, so you are not on your own. They will be at all street crossings and wherever there is a turn in the route. Please view the course map.
Do I have to finish the course?
No. If you feel you have walked enough, please make your way to the village at Fig Grove, our start and finish site, where you can relax at any time.
If you cannot continue to the site, please alert a volunteer so we can assist you.
Do we need to finish by a certain time?
Yes, you need to finish by 11pm, within 6 hours. If you are still walking at this time, we'll collect you in our van and transport you to the start site.
Does my entry fee go towards people living with mental illness?
Your entry fee supports the costs of staging the event. We rely on you to
What should I wear?
We do have a prize for the best costume - so go all out! Use light creatively, and give us your best. Dress sporty, fun, colourful - or any athletic gear that you feel comfortable in. We do ask that you wear close toed shoes for your own safety.

Where can I park and what about public transport?
The start and finish site is at Fig Grove, Sydney Olympic Park. Fig Grove is located on the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Dawn Fraser Avenue, across the road from McDonalds.
We STRONGLY recommend taking public transport to and from the event. Trains run to and from Olympic Park for the duration of the event.
**PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT SYDNEY TRAINS HAVE ANNOUNCED TRACK WORK FOR THIS WEEKEND ** This may affect your journey.

The train station is a 3-minute walk from the start/ finish site.
There is limited paid parking on site ($25), however we discourage driving home late at night, after walking a half marathon for your own safety. The train station is a 3-minute walk from the start/finish site while parking is some distance away and we cannot accompany you to your car. Please see parking information here.

We suggest bringing only what you need for the event - a small backpack, water, snacks, lightweight raincoat or poncho. Unfortunately we do not have space to store personal belongings at the registration point, so please try to carry

For the safety of all participants, this is a walking event only.
How do I join a team?
It's easy to join a team!
From the Home page, type the team name into the box on the top right that is titled "Find a Friend"
The team name will appear in a box. Click on the box.
Click on the orange box that says Join Us.
Follow the prompts to either complete your registration or link an existing registration to the team.
You're all done!
Does everyone in my team need to register for the walk?
Yes. If they are participating in the walk, they must be registered.
Does everyone on my team need to have a fundraising page?
