Australia's biggest killer - Mental Health & Suicide
Like many others when I was a teenager one of my friends took his life. It was an incredibly sad time and affected many of my other friends very deeply still to this day.
It has only been in recent times that I have reconnected with his brother who is heavily involved in mental health and suicide prevention and that I have come to understand what a massive issue mental health and suicide is in Australia. There is also still so much stigma around these things and people don't feel comfortable to talk about it.
It makes me so sad to think that people don't feel able to talk when they are facing dark times. Mental health issues and Suicide will touch all of us in our lifetime and many are preventable. I hope that the money I raise will encourage conversations and also raise much needed funds to support Black Dog and their research.
