Josie’s meaningful moment
Shearing one sheep is hard. Especially if you’ve never done it before. Shearing 100 sheep is incredible. That’s what Josie did in memory of her beloved son Jamie and the brother of her son’s girlfriend, both of whom died from suicide.
Josie has been in the shearing industry for 20 years but had never shorn sheep. She worked closely with her son Jamie, an up-and-coming shearer, before his passing 2 years before.
Although tough and emotional, the day showed the remarkable support of the community coming together for Josie as she used her son's handpiece for the very last time.
