Happy legs and happy heads
At Coogee Run Club, we believe running is more than moving your body — it’s about showing up for yourself and for each other. It’s fresh air, shared kilometres, honest chats, endorphins, connection, and the reminder that you don’t have to do life solo.
That’s why we’re proud to fundraise for the Black Dog Institute, a world-leading mental health research organisation working to create better outcomes for people across Australia and beyond. Their work saves lives — through research, education, early intervention, and breaking down the stigma that still stops so many people from reaching out.
The numbers matter.
• 45% of Australians will experience mental illness in their lifetime
• 1 in 5 people experience symptoms every single year
• More than 50% of people living with mental illness won’t seek professional help
• Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15–44
• By 2030, depression is expected to be the leading health concern worldwide
As a run club, we see first-hand how powerful it can be to move together — how showing up on a tough day can shift your mood, your mindset, even your week. By supporting the Black Dog Institute, we’re helping fund research and programs that make it easier for people to get support sooner, feel understood, and know that help is always within reach.
Every donation helps. Every step counts. And together, we can keep building stronger bodies, healthier minds, and a community that looks out for one another — on the run, and beyond it.
Thanks for backing better mental health with us 🖤
