2024 Mental Health Campaign

G’day legends! Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone for their support over the last six years with our Mental Health Campaigns, raising awareness of mental health in mining. Each year, we've focused on mental health and its staggering statistics.

This year, we’ve teamed up again with the Black Dog Institute with our conversation-starting designs. As always, 100% of all proceeds go directly to the Black Dog Institute. To date, we've raised just over $82k, and we aim to hit our goal of $100,000.00!

We have three major sponsors this year: Digital Terrain, Westfill, and Wilko Technologies. Additionally, many companies have donated amazing prize packs. Every shirt purchased gets you a ticket into the raffle, with thousands of dollars’ worth of goods up for grabs.

**Key Statistics:**

- 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness within the year.

- 1 in 4 young Australians (ages 16-24) will experience a mental illness within the year.

- Suicide is the 13th leading cause of death in Australia.

- Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death for men and the 22nd for women.

- Male suicides make up three-quarters of all suicides in Australia.

- While males are more likely to die by suicide, females are more likely to be hospitalized for intentional self-harm.

- Approximately 65,000 Australians make a suicide attempt each year.

A simple conversation can make a significant difference. We all know how lonely it can feel at times. Mental health is hard to acknowledge, but I hope that by wearing our campaign shirts, we can spark conversations and break the stigma around this subject.
