My name is Melanie Young and I’m running an Annual Dart Competition called One Dart Forward at the Harvey Bulls Football Club on Saturday August 10 2024. The event is to raise awareness for the Black Dog Institute of Australia.
Last year was the First year I held the event and we raised over $3500!!
I’m not stopping at just a dart comp I wanna raise as much awareness and funds as I can and get anyone and everyone involved because at one time or another in all our lives you will know someone struggling with Mental Health Issues, maybe someone close to you or even yourself. You may have even felt the pain of losing a loved one to Suicide.
One Dart Forward is a way of getting people to talk about mental health and to try get rid of the stigma surrounding it. It’s raising awareness and showing people that there is help out there available to everyone because mental illness doesn’t discriminate.
That’s why I’m hosting my very own event, to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute. Every dollar raised will support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
