FRIENDS DOING 100KM FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Hello friends,

We’ve set out to challenge ourselves to 100km each of walking and/or running throughout the month of September (suicide prevention month) to raise funds and awareness for the Black Dog Institute. Collectively as a team, we aim to cover a distance of 2,000KM

1 in 5 individuals will experience symptoms of mental illness each year and 60% of these people living with mental illnesses will not seek help. Additionally, this season and September is unlike anything we’ve experienced before, with the existence of COVID-19 pandemic currently upon us. The mental ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic has drastically driven mental illness statistics even further from health, making this a crucial time now more than ever to stand up for this worthwhile cause.

It’s a well known fact that getting active and moving our bodies can positively influence and benefit our mental health! So our mission stands to help support and encourage others to come together to work towards one common goal, that aims to raise funds/awareness while also improving our own mental health too!
