21 August - On the return, feel the burn!

With just over a week left on our journey, the Bombers have now run an impressive 1461.1kms! We are now on the home run from the MCG, currently between Tarcutta and Tumblong NSW.

We still have a solid 490.9kms to go to make it back to Adelaide Street Oval and a little way to go raising our target $2,000 for the Black Dog Institute. We understand times are tough at the moment which is why we are raising awareness of the importance of mental health and keeping physically active. 14 August - Bombers have landed at the MCG!

The Bombers have landed at the MCG!!
After many shared kms on foot, the team have made it and within 2 weeks!💪. Now to keep those feet travelling and get back home! Let’s run Bombers…🏃‍♀️🏃🏻

The MCG is within our reach...only 69kms to go!!

After a great first week the Bombers have continued their relentless pursuit towards the MCG.

We have now run 898.1kms, putting us just south of Wandong (Vic) and only 69kms from the MCG.

Don't forget to get behind the team and this great cause. They really are putting in the hard yards.

Cracker Start for the Bombers Team!

Having started our journey to the MCG on Monday we are now 5 days in and over 400kms along.

This puts us almost at Jugiong NSW (which is this side of Gundagai). 

Keep it going team, plenty of kms left to cover!

They may have stopped us playing, but they won’t stop us running!!

The Central Coast Bombers are uniting as one, in a virtual running team to get from Bombers HQ to the mighty MCG and back (1,952kms) during the month of August.

This past year has been difficult for many. The social isolation, physical distancing, continual sports closures, and the many uncertainties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic have heightened the risk of the mental health crisis across our region.

So, with the extended lockdown and the disappointment of the cancellation of our AFL season,  the Central Coast Bombers have decided to join Team Black Dog to raise awareness and much needed funds for mental health.

Now more than ever, we need to remain connected, and with our united front we can keep ourselves motivated and excited that we can still contribute as a team towards great things in 2021. On or off the field, we are all in this together, and just like our trademarks the Bombers will continue being ‘Relentless’ and ‘Consistent’ no matter the hand we are dealt!

Let’s keep in mind that mental illness affects 1 in 5 Australians every year, with the most common being depression and anxiety. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate. It affects people from all walks of life — individuals, families, workplaces and communities.

So let’s get moving or donate to help support the Bombers and Team Black Dog turn ground breaking research into lifesaving action.
