Help me raise awareness and continue the fight against the Black Dog!
1 in 5 Australians experiences mental illness in any given year, and about half of all people will experience mental health problems at some stage in their life.To all my brothers & sisters, please if you EVER need someone to talk to if you feel trapped, scared, broken, confused, sad, not good enough whatever it may be... please speak to me or someone close to you. We are losing far too many to the black dog and it's so unbelievably gut wrenching...
Only when you speak up can you truly face and understand what it is that troubles you and see that no matter how alone you feel, you are one of many going through the same struggles...
So many are enduring the same and yet struggling in silence... feeling that no one could possibly comprehend what they are feeling... which only isolates them further.
But you're not alone.
You're not broken.
You are good enough.
Mental Health is something I am incredibly passionate about shining more of a light on. It's something that has affected so many people close to us and in some cases even destroyed or taken the lives of the people we love. If not knocking back my usual froffies for 30 days can help the amazing team at Black Dog Institute continue doing great work then it's the absolute least I can do.
This is why I've decided to tackle Dry July in 2020 in an attempt to not only raise awareness, but also raise funds for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. So if you can spare even the smallest amount it would mean the world!
