Jared’s shave for The Black Dog

Help me create a mentally healthier world

Jared has been personally affected by The Black Dog losing a few mates to this awful disease and wanted to show his support and raise awareness by shaving his beard and hair off for a Good cause.
Jared has had his beard since 2012 and was even the first Winner of the Beard challenge at Fossey’s first World Gin Day event. He has had a few people over the years saying “you should shave that off” and he thought why not do it for a great cause.

WOW we did it, we’ve raised $10,000, so with a few weeks to go we have decided to raise the goal to $15,000
If your down at the show and shine today pop into The Corporate Moose, Antisocial Collective or Slip Rocks Barber Shop to grab a tshirt or stubby holder.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far, this is what the $10,000 has helped the Black Dog so far:
This is what you have made possible:

- More health professionals trained in mental health and more effectively treating their patients with symptoms of poor mental health.
- Increased understanding in the community about mental health issues, illnesses, signs and symptoms.
- Reduced stigma toward mental health in the community, encouraging people to share their feelings and talk about mental health issues.
- Increased levels of help seeking among communities and in particular in young people.
- Increased access to information and resources about mental health and wellbeing. 
- Lower rates of depression and anxiety in the community.
Ultimately, prevention of the development of serious, life-limiting mental illness in young people
