Help me create a mentally healthier world!

Hi my dear friends & family! I am at it again, this time trying to raise awareness for mental illness. Recent times have presented challenges to many individuals and in Australia alone 45% of people will experience mental illness in their lifetime and 65% of these people will not seek help. We don't have to look far to see our loved ones suffering with mental illness and it is terribly concerning to know that suicide is the leading cause of death in Australians aged 15-44.  I chose the Black Dog Institute (BDI) as the non-profit organisation for this fundraising event. BDI is the only medical research institute in Aus to investigate mental health across the lifespan and their work is built on science, evidence, trust and compassion, taking mental health science into a bright new era!

So... can you help me run the 45km Mt Buller Sky run on the 28th of March? Set in the heart of Victoria's high country the Mt Buller run is one of the most amazing high altitude runs that Australia has on offer (2500m of climbing https://www.runningwild.net.au/alpine-runs/mt-buller-sky-run.html). I will struggle, there will be pain; however if I can push it aside for the day while thinking of those struggling with mental illness then I'm going to try hard.  Lets pave the way for our younger generation by talking about mental health and contributing to the research that will ensure they are armed with the best support. So training for a trail marathon distance or greater these days was always going to be a challenge. I have to say, having my little coach Isla actually makes training so much more fun and different, no more running solo every morning anymore, but the opportunity to hike hills with coach in the carrier, push coach in the pram or tow her in the bike trailer😊 Sometimes the whole family come along for a session - with super dad 💁‍♂️ assistant coach Major 🐶 and retired coach Red 🐕  all making an appearance. I feel this can only make the mind and body stronger PLUS far more fun.
