Running for Clear Minds

I can't begin to explain how grateful I am for the support I have received over the last 3 months for my Running for Clear Minds campaign. From originally hoping to raise $5,000, to raising over $11,000 for Black Dog Institute, it wouldn't have been possible without the multitude of people who donated and/or supported me along the way.
Although, due to injury, I didn't finish in the time bracket I had hoped for, I'm still glad I was able to finish and express my gratitude to all of those who were there for me at the end.
Mental health is extremely important and I hope that my campaign is able to show how exercise can be in maintaining a healthy mind. If you or anyone is suffering with mental illness, please reach out and seek the help that you deserve.
Hi, I’m Oscar Tyler. I’m 16 years old and live in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast.
On Sunday 27 November 2022 I will be undertaking a solo run from Noosa to Mooloolaba, a distance of approximately 42km (a marathon!), to raise funds and awareness for the mental health charity Black Dog Institute. I’m hoping to raise $5,000 through my Running for Clear Minds campaign.
My personal struggle with mental illness and its effect on myself and others is my reason for supporting Black Dog Institute. The charity aims to create a mentally healthier world for everyone, through learning more about the causes of mental illness and creating evidence-based mental health tools that are accessible to everyone.
Mental illness can be challenging to overcome. Through my personal experience, I’ve found that running and other forms of exercise are extremely helpful in achieving a healthy mind and body. This is why I have created Running for Clear Minds.
