Biking for Bipolar

 Biking for Bipolar. - 500KM in the month of October to raise money for mental health research. 


In November last year I was diagnosed with Type 2 Bipolar. 

When I heard the words Bipolar my first reaction was “the illness with mood swings” - it’s a common connection people make. 

Bipolar for me personally is feeling emotions I can’t explain or control, my close circle have seen it peak and I can’t even begin to explain how lucky I am to have so much support around me with it all. 

What I aiming to do is help create more of a open conversation about having mental illnesses and how they affect us. 

I certainly wasn’t planning to open about my experience with mental illness but recently upon reflecting on the day person I was a year ago to the person I am now. It’s amazing what a treatment plan and support circle can do. 

I want to help others to be able to rise up and open the conversation about mental health / mental illness and embrace that it is okay to face these and it doesn’t have to be a negative! 

Help me and team Black Dog raise funds to create research for mental health and mental illness. Mental illness affects one in five Australians!
