Mental illness affects 1 in 5 Australians every year, with the most common being depression and anxiety. 8 Australians die by suicide everyday, 6 of whom are male; and suicide is the leading cause of death in Australians 15 - 44 years.
Mental illness doesn't discriminate. It affects people from all walks of life - individuals, families, workplaces and communities.

Monday 18th Oct
Thank you all for your support of the BBQ on 13 October 2021 to raise awareness for mental well being and raise funds for Black Dog Institute. I was proud to be able to be a part of this initiative which was born out of Train Crew wanting to work together to convey the important message of looking after each other and speaking up if needed for support. I hope we can continue to improve on this issue and it can become as easy to talk about mental health as many other health conditions without fear of being stigmatised.
On the day donations totaled $573.40 in cash which were transferred to Black Dog Institute by way of a credit card payment of $588.40 including fees. The rolling total now on the page is $5345.00 including the cash contributions on the day.
