Kayaking The Bass Strait
In January 2024, 5 mates will be setting off to kayak across the Bass Strait in support of mental health.
Crossing from Victoria to Tasmania, the trip will consist of 7 paddling days with a straight line distance of 320KM. The bass strait is infamous for its volatile weather conditions, pairing its nautical difficulty with the physicality of the crossing. Putting to test our 12month+ planning & training for the trip.
In partnering with black dog institute, this trip is being completed in hopes to inspire and start a new conversation on mental health. With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing mental health illnesses in any given year, and over 60% of which not seeking any form of help. We believe it’s #timeforachange and to use this campaign to spread awareness and erase the taboo outlook on reaching out and asking for help.
