Every two hours and eleven minutes a person under the age of twenty-five successfully commits suicide. And for every successful suicide
there are at least 50 to 200 attempts.
As a victim of suicide losing my father at the age 11, it is easy to say that it was tough to understand what that even meant.
As a young adult I now understand the struggles my father may have been going through. This empowers me to make change in today's
society.
For the last ten months I have been growing a mullet for mullets for mental health with the black dog institute. The Black Dog Institute is a
not-for-profit facility for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder across
Australia. The purpose of Black Dog Institute, As the only medical research institute in Australia is to investigate mental health across the
lifespan our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone
With the support of try Manager and work colleagues; Myself, Mercia, and Taylia from Brisbane north rental village have been training to
participate in the Brisbane River Run 100 half marathon on Sunday 11 September 2022. In doing so our aim is to raise money for mullets
for mental health.
On Monday 12 September 2022 We will be holding a fundraiser event at Brisbane North Rental Village September from 11am there will be
food drinks. pool party and the entertainment of the local barber from Aspley hypermarket attending to shave Adams mullet, we invite our
fellow staff to support this great cause by attending our event or donating 

River Run 100

Thursday 18th Aug

I and two of my fellow work colleagues will be participating in the River Run 100 2022 half marathon, doing so our goal is to raise $1000 dollars for Mental Health Research. Adam, Mercia and Taylia will complete a 21Km run around the Brisbane city river. In doing so are raising funds for Mental Health Research. A Ingenia Rental community fundraiser will be held at Brisbane North Rental Village on Monday the 12th of September at 11am. Food and entertainment as well as the shaving of Adams mullet will all be happing. We ask for your donation to help support mental health research 1 in 5 of us will experience symptoms of mental illness in any given year. In Australia that’s around 5 million people. And roughly 60% of these people won’t seek help.
