11th May 2024 Burilda Park Ride and Re-connect Trail Ride for Mental Health

By Alex Cragg

Help me make it meaningful

Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.

That’s why I’m hosting my very own event, to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute. Every dollar raised will support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

Help me create a meaningful moment for mental health, all for a great cause.

Please donate now. Thank you.

Black Dog Institute Trail Ride with Burilda Park

11th May 2024 -  Bookings Essential

Join us for a half day of trail riding through the picturesque pines of Oberon, New South Wales to raise money for the Black Dog Institute and awareness about mental health.

This ride is a fabulous space to ride and chat- after all, so many of our horses are our unpaid therapists! So get those friends together and support a wonderful cause while enjoying the sunshine and great company!

Beginning at ‘Burilda Park’, riders will head 1km out the back gates into the state pine forrest for miles of guided trail riding bliss.

This ride caters for most levels of confidence with two groups/times to choose from.

Walk and trot riders leave at 1pm

Walk, trot and canter riders leave at 1.30pm

Why not extend the day! Make a night/weekend of it.

Following the ride, riders will come back to the Burilda Park function centre for dinner. Bring a camp chair and a picnic rug, everyone is welcome!

Riders are welcome to stay for a provided and included dinner and camp the night. Want to bring a plate of food? We’d love that! Just let us know if you’re a sweet, savoury, salad or ‘gimme a suggestion’ cook! We have a cool room that all food can be stored before the ride.

Over dinner, a charity raffle will be able to be entered and then drawn after dinner! All proceeds will be added to the kitty for the fundraiser.

You’re welcome to bring your own beverages.

Camping is unpowered and amenities are available. You’ll need to bring your own towels.

Horses staying overnight must be provided with yards- either steel or tape and will be yarded next to your floats.
