RIP Ari

It’s been a year, dear Ari, and you remain as unforgettable as ever. Your life, your love and your passion touched more people than you’ll ever know. You once joked that starting your own religion would be a great way to get rich, but instead you started a service devoted to enriching education. Your kindness, your intelligence and your grace made those who loved you best want to follow you anywhere, into any new adventure you dreamed up. In your darkest hours and days, your people did their best to hold you, and bind you here to us, and I am so truely sorry, still, that we weren’t enough, individually or collectively. Our parish collected this gift during lent, and we share it in your name, to add to and honour your legacy. You and your family are in our prayers, today and every other day.

Although I haven't seen Ari for many years I was shocked to hear this news. Ari always struck me as a lovely, warm and incredibly smart person with a real passion for his craft. Rest is peace Ari.

Its been a hard year losing my brother in this way. There has been lots of distractions in the last few months and i finally made it around to reading all the messages on the Black Dog donations page today. Its heartwarming to read your messages and feel the support for Ari and for other people that might be having a hard time dealing with things in life. I truly wish there was more openness and transparency in our lives, as this was a great shock to me hearing of my brothers pain too late to make a difference. When i was little he taught me a great many things and when we grew into adults could find a good quite moment buying ice cream from Bill and Tonys or making some food at home for our kids. I will cherish the good times i had with him forever.

The VDS team at DESE were so saddened to hear about Ari's passing, he had such a sharp mind and was a generous contributor. We can only imagine the depth of loss to his family and friends. Our sincere condolences.

We are saddened to hear of Ari's passing and our thoughts are with his family. We always enjoyed working with Ari. He was a real character and will be missed through the industry.

So sad about the news of Ari's passing. A true professional and caring man who freely gave of his time and knowledge.

Ari, you have always been young, positive and cheerful. We are very sadden by this news and our thoughts are with your family and the teams at ISH.

I knew Ari as an extremely smart, creative, and dedicated professional who was always there for his Ish clients. He had so much to offer the world. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

So sorry to hear about your loss. We will miss Ari, whether he was visiting with his girls or just passing by on his way home.

I knew you but a short 5 years Ari but in that time working literally next to you, I got to know you and found a man who had a great heart, sense of humour and immense patience when it came to teaching me things. You became my first mentor and you changed my life. I was floating through life week to week with no ambition and you gave me drive to pursue a career in IT. I’ll never forget the influence you had on me and the moments we shared together at work. Thank you for always supporting me when I needed it. Your legacy lives on with your girls who should be so very proud of the positive connections of people he has journeyed with over the years. It is so amazing to see the fruits of his labours, with his work and with the people who worked with him in any capacity.

How do you sum up a life? Having worked with Ari for a few years, I'll remember his openness, his creativity & his curiosity about those who were blessed to know him, I count myself lucky to be amongst them. My condolences to his family. Rest in Peace Ari.

Ari was a huge part of our school community and P&C for many years. We can't thank him enough for his generous and cheerful contributions to our school. His efforts made a real and tangible difference for students and staff, and it was all on a volunteer basis. You will always be remembered Ari. Our love goes out to his family at this time.

A dedicated manager of his daughters' soccer team for 5 years, Ari was a most appreciated member of the Saints community. Leichhardt Saints Football Club sends our condolences to all of Ari's family and friends.

We are so shocked and saddened by losing Ari. He was our constant companion on the sideline through so many soccer matches and kept us and the girls going with his spirit and kindness through many seasons. We will miss him and we send our love to his family.

We will miss you Ari. You gave so much to our community - always at the heart of the school P&C and the girls' soccer, always with a mad cap way to make the technology work better. You made the world's best donuts and gave the best bread-making advice. You were kind and fun and you are gone from all our lives too soon.
