I’ve intentionally posted the only photo I have during a depressive episode that can physical depict what this battle was doing to me.

I have rarely taken photos of myself when I’m doing well, let alone when I’m in a depressive episode.
The photo I’ve posted is from 2 years ago when I was experiencing the worst depressive episode to date. It was a few minutes after I had been sitting in my car out the front of my house having panic attacks for at least the last hour.
I had no tissues on me so I just let it all come out.
It is possibly one of the greatest, and grossest, photos I have ever taken - it was me, with my invisible disease on show in the most obvious, physical way.
I’m thankful that I have this photo now
Thankful that I have always been well supported even when I didn’t realise it
And thankful that the people around me have been able to keep me together when I could do it myself
I am especially thankful that my best mate screenshot this because she knew I needed this to laugh about later
To help me get through this

This is not to say that I find mental health battles amusing, this is to show the way that I am able to cope with it
To show you that support comes in varying degrees and a multitude of ways

This is to show that there is no one way, or right way to battle this disease
But it is to show you that surrounding yourself with supportive people is vital
And to remind everyone that your support to the people around you, is always appreciated, even if you don’t know how to express it!
