Black Dog Institute is the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, their aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.
They do this through ‘translational’ research. Integrating their research studies, education programs, digital tools and apps, clinical services, and public resources to discover new solutions, foster connections and create real-world change.
Their partnerships with people with lived experience, federal, state and local governments, communities, schools, corporate Australia and others in the mental health sector enables us to drive evidence-informed change in mental health where it’s needed most.
My Updates
For our darling Jake
Sunday 3rd OctOn the 14th of October it is my beautiful big brother Jake’s 2nd anniversary since having lost his long battle with his mental illness. Jacob put so much colour into the world & and left an astonishing imprint on anyone he ever interacted with. Jake was crude, hilarious, a crap dancer and a loyal, loving & incredible soul. Our Dad always said he hopes that his children leave a beautiful mark on this world, Jacob was surely the first one to prove what a mark he made on all those who he has now left behind.
This year I have made a page with the black dog institute in Jake’s memory. The black dog institute aim to create a more mentally happy world for everyone to live in & I could not consolidate a better cause. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in the world, nearly one person takes their own life every 40 seconds.
Never be afraid to reach out, It is not weak to speak. The world could not possibly be a better place without you in it.
