Mental illness doesn't knock on doors or check bank balances. It touches the lives of 1 in 5 Australians each year, leaving a trail of symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact is profound, not only for those directly affected but also for their loved ones. This cause is deeply personal to me, as our family has felt the weight of this affliction across generations and genders. As the patriarch of our family, it's heart-wrenching to witness those we love grappling with such distress. What's even more challenging is the sense of helplessness that envelopes those close to them - feeling powerless to bring about change when it's most needed.
For this reason, I've chosen to support the Black Dog Institute through my fundraising and awareness campaign. The Black Dog Institute stands at the forefront of mental health research and support, working tirelessly to bring hope and understanding to those facing the challenges of mental illness.
