Help me make it meaningful
Hey everyone. My name is Garth Bickford and I am embarking on my greatest challenge. I aim to spend 24 hours, nonstop, unassisted in an ILCA 6 dinghy to raise awareness for mental health. The ILCA, formally known as the laser, is the boat used for the male and female, single person Olympic class. Designed for inshore day racing. So using it as an inshore/offshore boat for 24 hours, is nothing short of difficult. But that is why this challenge came to mind. When it comes to dealing with mental health, it’s not always easy.
Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.
Help me create a meaningful moment for mental health as I work up a sweat, all for a great cause.
