Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.
Leading up to the recent two year anniversary of the passing of my precious brother I wanted to do something in honor of him. Something I know would make Dean proud. I've decided to commit to completing my first Sprint Triathlon this March to raise money for mental illness. Although his mental health isn't not what took him from us, I unfortunately saw how debilitating it was for him and how much time it took from his already short life.
Black Dog Institute is the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan. Their aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.
