Help me make it meaningful

First responders witness and carry the weight of experiences most of us never see. Repeated exposure to trauma can have a profound impact on mental health, with many emergency workers living with the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other stress-related challenges. Supporting their wellbeing is vital, not only for those who serve our communities but for the families and communities who rely on them. In recognition of this, a local artist from Cabarita Beach in Northern New South Wales has generously donated a beautiful watercolor painting to help raise funds and awareness. Through art and community generosity, this initiative aims to support programs that care for the mental health of the people who so often put others. Every dollar raised will support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

Help me create a meaningful moment for mental health, all for a great cause.

A little bit goes a long way 🙏

Saturday 14th Mar

First responders—including police, paramedics, firefighters, and nurses—stand on the front line of our communities, often facing traumatic and high-pressure situations in the course of their work. While they dedicate themselves to protecting and caring for others, it is vital that we recognise the impact this can have on their own mental health. Greater awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), early support, and accessible mental health services are essential to ensure these professionals are not left to carry the weight of their experiences alone. Equally important is support for their families, who share in the challenges and play a crucial role in their recovery, resilience, and wellbeing.
