Mind Matters - Trimming Stigma Around Men's Mental Health

By Lacy Hunter Join Me

Help us make it meaningful!

Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.

Many of us have or have encountered men in our lives struggling with mental health issues. Sadly, due to stigma, discussing these issues is often seen as 'unmanly'. Let's work together to change that!

Mind Matters is an event fundraising for men’s mental health awareness in partnership with Black Dog Institute, Kings Den Barbershop and LAYM clothing. We want to shine a light on this often overlooked cause by bringing the community together and showcasing that the barbershop is a safe space for men. With live music, haircuts, raffles, a silent auction, cocktails/drinks and food, it will be a night of fun and an opportunity to fundraise and encourage open conversations about men’s mental health in our local community.

We are looking for local businesses and organisations to contribute and participate in this event by donating goods/services to our raffle draw and/or silent auction - all funds from the raffle and auction will be donated to Black Dog institute under the event name ‘Mind Matters.

Help us create a meaningful moment for mental health, all for a great cause.

Please donate now. Thank you.
