Our Mission and Why?
Our mission is to raise awareness all around the world about Mental Illness. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them. With help from you we plan to raise $10,000 for the Black Dog Institute and Mental Health.
Why are we doing this?
Mental Health has affected myself before, as well as close friends and family. When I was young I was one of those people that thought this could never happen to me, but it did. It crept up on me and I didn't see it coming and that's the reason why I am doing this. We all need to learn more about this complex subject. So I'm here to spread the information and raise some money for it as well.
Why Kokoda?
My Grandfather was a Rat of Tobruk. He fought in both World Wars and I admire him greatly. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet my Grandfather. I want to complete the Kokoda Track in honour of him. The Kokoda Track is a challenge that will test me, although it doesn't even come close to what my Grandfather, other veterans and current soldiers have been through.
