Help me make it meaningful
You surely would have noticed by now my "gross mullet" (as one of my colleagues once called it), growing over the last 12 months.
Despite all the laughs at my own expense, it hasn't been just for fun, this has been about raising awareness around Mental Illness.
I personally have had my own struggles and battles with Anxiety for many years, this is something that I am very open about and have shared with most of you at some point in time, what some of those challenges are and I wanted to use a platform like this one to help develop better awareness, all whilst raising much needed funding.
Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.
That’s why I’m making a change with a brand new hair-do and raising funds for the Black Dog Institute. Every dollar raised will support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
Help me create a meaningful moment for mental health when I go the chop, all for a great cause, on Monday 18th September.
Across the month leading up until the big date, I'm happy to be challenged for a donation, would you like to see me straighten my curly locks for a $100 donation, put my mullet into a pony tail for $200, whatever it takes to raise as much money as possible, I'm willing to go that extra mile.
