Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.
It's been proven that getting outside and engaging in the outdoors can have a positive impact on people's mental health.
That’s why I’m taking on the 496 Challenge in December on behalf of Outdoors WA to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute and awareness about the benefits of being healthy outdoors.
What's the 496 Challenge? Simple really. You run 1km on the 1st of the month, 2km on the 2nd and so on. By the end of December I will have run 496km.
