Help me make it meaningful
When you see the little green Kei Metric truck pulling up to sort out a property, you probably just see a landscaping and exterior cleaning business. But for me, this truck represents something much deeper: it’s an absolute lifeline.
Before I started Kei Metric, I was up to my neck in the relentless 9-to-9 corporate slog. Managing over 200 staff in a high-pressure operations gig looked great on paper, but behind the scenes, I was quietly doing it tough. The stress snowballed, leading to severe depression and anxiety. I was completely burning out, and worst of all, the massive hours were stealing precious time away from watching my five-year-old daughter grow up.
I realised I needed a massive reset. I started Kei Metric to take back control of my life, my time, and my mental health. Stepping away from the boardroom to get on the tools and work outside hasn't just been a career change. It’s been my recovery.
Now, I want to use this business to help other locals who are fighting those same invisible battles. When you're struggling with depression or anxiety, even the smallest tasks feel like climbing a mountain. Watching your lawn get completely overgrown or your garden turn into a jungle only adds to that heavy feeling of being overwhelmed. I want to give people one less thing to worry about.
That's why Kei Metric is kicking off "Feel Good Fridays" in support of the Black Dog Institute.
Here's how we’re pitching in, and how you can get involved:
🌿 1. Book a Friday, Give Back 50% For every job booked and knocked over on a Friday, 50% of the proceeds will be donated straight to the Black Dog Institute to fund crucial mental health research and support programs. You get a sharp-looking yard, and half your cash goes toward saving lives.
🤝 2. Pay It Forward Don't need any work done at your place, but want to make a real difference? You can chip in directly to our "Pay It Forward" fund. I’ll use 100% of these donations to provide free yard maintenance and clean-ups for folks in our local communities who are doing it tough mentally. A tidy outdoor space can completely change someone's outlook, and your donation lets me show up and take that burden off their shoulders, completely free of charge.
Mental health struggles thrive when we isolate ourselves. Let’s build a community that actually looks out for its mates.
