In memory of Dad
Losing Dad has reinforced just how important it is that we continue talking about mental health, supporting one another, and breaking down the stigma that still surrounds it.
Walking for awareness is about helping create a culture where people feel comfortable being honest about how they’re really doing. A culture where it’s normal to say, “No, I’m not alright,” and know that it’s okay to ask for help.
It’s also a reminder to look out for your mates, your family, and the people you care about. Not everyone who is struggling shows it. Sometimes the people who seem the happiest, strongest, or have everything under control are carrying battles that nobody else can see. A genuine check-in, a conversation, or simply taking the time to listen can mean more than you know.
If this encourages even one person to speak up, reach out, or check in on someone they care about, then it’s worth every step.
