Help me make it meaningful
When I was 22 my 'Best Friend' and 'First Love' took his own life. It was only 2 days before he did this, that he spent the night with me and that I reached out to my local GP for Mental Health Support for my own issues and battles. My appointment was the morning we woke up together. When he left that day it was the last time I saw him smile at me.
Sadly he decided to take things into his own hands a couple of nights after that visit and then a little over a week later I was reading his eulogy.
Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.
That’s why I’m hosting my very own event, to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute!
Every dollar raised will support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I am hosting a night of entertainment and fun, with drag shows, stand-up comedy and even a Michael Jackson impersonator. With '10x DOOR PRIZES' all up for grabs and gratefully donated by different people and businesses.

Monday 29th Jun Everybody knows somebody that has either gone through mental health issues or you yourself may have suffered from mental health problems. Maybe even worse and you've been personally affected by somebody taking things in to there own hands... There is help available, somebody always willing to listen and support were they can.
