Watch me freeze my ass off for a good cause

When I was 19 I lost my sister to suicide. I didn't know much, if anything about mental health at the time and part of me was to young to understand everything that was happening. I remember the days following so distinctly. It's something I don't wish upon any family.

It was a bitter pill to swallow knowing that I'd never get to see my big sister again and at the time I felt so helpless to the fact that there was nothing I could do.

Now many years later I understand with greater depth the impact our mental health has on us and I realise just how easy it is to let those whispers in and control our thoughts. In 2021 over 3000 people died by suicide. That's 3000 families that experienced exactly what mine did.

Now older and wiser I realise I can punish my body in the hopes that people will donate to The Black Dog Institute who support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

A marathon in Antarctica seems like one of the most gruelling places to punish my body for money so that's exactly what I plan to do.

July Update

Thursday 17th Aug

July's been a crazy month for running and for fundraising! This month saw me tackle over 300km for the month which is the most of the year.

It's also seen some big challenges and ceilings raised. Special mention to Darcy Celona for challenging me to run 60km in the African heat after a 12 hour shift. That alone raised $1000 for The Black Dog Institute and pushed my limits higher.

July also saw my first two business sponsors come on board. They will be announced in August but I'm very excited to share who I'm partnering with for this event.

I'd like to thank all of the people would have sponsored my kilometres during the weeks. That's been where the majority of money raised has come from so I really appreciate people putting their hands in the pockets to make a difference.
