Young men remain deeply affected by suicide, reminding us that this is an issue that calls for more open, honest conversations about mental health. This message is especially close to the heart of Saint Augustine’s, which continues to feel the loss of a member of the Class of 2026 and is committed to fostering a community of care, support, and early help‑seeking.
This year, staff and students of the Saint Augustines Class of 2026 will complete the Great Wheelbarrow Race from Mareeba to Chillagoe on the weekend of May 8th - 10th. This will be a grueling challenge in the North Queensland climate but through perseverance and the support of each other, they will get through it.
They have chosen the Black Dog Institute as their cause as they provide evidence-based programs for communities, workplaces and schools to help raise awareness and tackle a silent epidemic.
