Help me make it meaningful
At the end of November I will be running the Coast to Kosci Ultramarathon. A 240km run from Eden, NSW to the peak of Mt Kosciusko, Australia's highest mountain in under 46 hours.
I am using this challenge to raise money for the Black Dog Institute - to support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
1 in 5 of us will experience mental illness in any given year, with 50% never seeking help. Having suffered with my own mental health in the past and also witnessed people very close to me . Whilst running has become a mental health saviour for me, it is not always enough and thats why the work that the Black Dog Institute is doing is so important.
As a teacher I am particularly passionate about Youth Mental Health and the research BDI are doing about this. About three-quarters of common mental health problems emerge before the age of 25 years old and in Australia, suicide is the leading cause of death for people aged 5-17 years old.

Coast2Kosci Complete!
Wednesday 4th Dec Thank you to everyone who so generously donated and also supported me whilst I was running. I finished Coast2kosci in 45hrs30mins and whilst there were tough moments I know there are so many people who struggle so much more on a daily basis. Raising some well needed donations to research mental health and support Black dog Institute really kept me going.
