Help me make it meaningful
My name is Fred Bede I’m a 20 year old university student studying at ANU.
May is mental health month around the country, so on May 31st I intend to complete an ultra challenging task to raise awareness for men’s mental health.
Within Australia 49 men die by suicide each week, I intend to run 49KM on the 31st of May. The furthest I’ve ever ran in my life was 10KM nearly 2 years ago, and I probably haven’t ran since. I may seem may seem way to underprepared for this challenge, however that is the key point so many men each day are thrown into the deep end and are expected to tackle difficult mental challenges, most of the time alone. I my self have had to live with mental health issues since Year 11, issues that I have to deal with on a daily basis, however I know there is light at the end of the tunnel, and hope this fundraiser can show that to other men as well.

Last Few Days
Tuesday 26th MayHey everyone, we are just 5 days out until the 31st of May where I will be running 49KM for the 49 male lives lost each week to suicide. I've had about 3 weeks of training for this which has had to come to a halt as a result of a knee injury, however this impacts nothing about the final run as I'll be running, walking or crawling the 49KM.
Many people have questioned my fitness and ability to complete such an event, I myself know it will not be an easy task at all, yet this run is being done to represent how so many men must deal with their mental health. When we are faced with depression, anxiety, or sadness we don't have any "training" to resolve these issues, we haven't had any preparation, and we do not know how long it will take to resolve but we know we must resolve them, however tragically some people do not.
I've been absolutely blown away by the donations so far and am so very thankful to everyone who has already donated, the original goal was $1,000 now we have raised over $6,000, however I'd love to go for one last huge push for $10,000.
