Help me make it meaningful

Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.

It's a fact I've known since I was in Primary School. Every day without support is a struggle, and oftentimes you don't even realise you're spiraling. I know everyone sometimes needs a little help. And organisations like the Black Dog Institute are critically important to helping as many people as possible deal with the stresses that come along with mental illness, and keep our friends and family on the track to positive mental wellbeing.

I lived through it in my youth, and still do today. I know how dangerous it can be. That's why I'm asking. Please, if you can, help me to help this wonderful organisation. So that they can go on and help countless more struggling with their own demons.

For the sake of ourselves, the people we love today, and the people we will love in the future.

Help me create a meaningful moment this May.

WE HIT $1000! Double my original goal, and we smashed it with a day remaining! Absolutely amazing! Thank you all so much!

Long overdue update

Monday 11th May
Wow! Okay, so this went so much better than I expected! From starting with what I thought would be an achievable 500 dollars as a goal, to doubling it up to 1000 is unreal!

Now to be clear, I'm already delighted and overwhelmed at how much support has been shown, and how many people have been so generous with donations, you're absolutely amazing, all of you, I cannot thank you enough for your kindness. 

And, given how close we've already come to the new goal, upped for the second time in a week, I am pretty excited to see if we can reach $1000 total for this event. As I've always told anyone I've spoken to about this, there's no pressure at all, and you shouldn't give unless you have the money spare and are in the giving mood. That being said, for a first time pulling together a fundraiser myself, I'm pretty pumped with how well it's gone so far.

We have until the end of the week though! And I'm hoping I can get a few more donations in that time, hit that wonderful Thousand dollar mark. Honestly though, it's been such an amazing show of support already, hitting two targets so quickly, I'm already happy with how it's all gone.
