Help me make it meaningful
Mental illness doesn’t discriminate. Every year, 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness such as depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating — not only for those living with it, but also for the people around them.
Mental health is something that has affected my own life and family, which is why this challenge means so much to me.
In November, I’ll be taking on The Long Way Home — a roughly 1200 km run around Tasmania, starting and finishing in Penguin, to raise awareness and support the work of the Black Dog Institute.
Sometimes getting back to a good place mentally isn’t a straight line — sometimes it takes the long way home.
If you’re able to, please consider donating to support this important cause. Every contribution helps fund research and support services for Australians impacted by mental illness.
Thank you so much for your support.

The Long Way Home – Running 1200km Around Tasmania for Mental Health
Monday 9th MarLater this year I’ll be attempting one of the biggest challenges of my life.
In November I plan to run roughly 1200 kilometres around Tasmania, starting and finishing in Penguin. I’m calling the run The Long Way Home, and I’m doing it to raise awareness and funds for the important work being done by the Black Dog Institute.
Mental health affects so many people across Australia, including people close to me and my own family. It’s something that deserves more awareness, more conversation, and more support.
Running has always helped me clear my head and push through challenges. With this run, I want to use that passion to do something bigger — to help raise awareness and contribute to a cause that matters.
The journey will be long, tough, and at times uncomfortable, but that’s part of why I’m doing it. Sometimes getting back to a better place mentally isn’t a straight path.
Sometimes it takes The Long Way Home.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount can help support the incredible work being done by the Black Dog Institute.
And if donating isn’t possible, simply sharing this page can help the message reach someone who might need it.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
