Mental illness doesn’t discriminate – it affects 1 in 5 Australians every year with symptoms like depression and anxiety. The impact can be devastating, not only for those living with it, but for those around them.
That’s why I’m getting active and raising funds for the Black Dog Institute - to support crucial mental health research and support services that help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.
I have had the Kokoda Trek on my bucket list for some time and thought it would be a great idea not for just a personal goal and experience but to raise awareness and funds to support ongoing research into Mental health.
Over the years i have personally had challenges with mental health and unfortunately lost people close to me with this illness . Earlier this year my cousin lost his battle after a long history of mental health and left behind his wife and a young family .
Help me create a meaningful moment for mental health as I tackle the Kokoda Track over 9 days and 94 km over the Owen Stanley Range in PNG, all for a great cause.
