Proud mum of Fred
As a psychologist, I know that many people, who are struggling, do not reach out to mental health professionals, such as myself. Unfortunately there is still a stigma that prevents us from about talking about our inner life. I wish that our mental health was considered to be just as important as our external physical appearance and that we support each other to do more things that were good for our mental health, as naturally and as regularly as we brush our teeth. I am ever so proud that my son Fred and his friends have founded and am running Walkingabouttalking for the second year. Walking for 50 kilometers in silence. Over the last year I have done 'abit of walking', in the Himalayas in Nepal, in Ireland, across the Camino, and most recently in Italy, from Sienna to Rome. Walking with like-minded people is a healing experience in and of itself. I don't normally ask people to donate to support my activities. In this case I hope you will give a donation- just as a sign of support for these amazing young people and for my poor feet that will be very sore at the end of this particular walk. Funds raised go directly to the Black Dog - I will be paying for my own pedicure! http://www.walkingabouttalking.com/
